The first issue of Euromoney 2012 published the results of the appraisal and selection for the best managed companies in Asia, Sinopec was given the title of the Best Managed Company in China.
On February 2, Mr. Neil Osborn, Executive President of Euromoney Legal Media Group, made a special visit to Beijing to grant the prize. Sinopec's Chairman Fu Chengyu was present at the ceremony.
Mr. Neil Osborn extended congratulations to Sinopec and expressed appreciations to Sinopec’s efforts and achievements in corporate governance, performance of social responsibilities, internationalized operation and green and low-carbon development in recent years.
Fu Chengyu said, Sinopec will practice its mission of developing itself, contributing to the country,rewarding shareholders, serving the society and benefiting staff members by enhancing its corporate government, strengthening international cooperation and pressing ahead green and low-carbon development as always. In a word, it will make unremitting efforts to grow into a world-class energy and chemical company.
Euromoney has started the appraisal and selection for the best managedcompanies in Asia since 2002, which has already developed into one of the most representative award in Asia-Pacific region and thus being given special attention in the capital market. Involved in more than 20 major industries, the event is mainly voted by institutional investors and professional analysts of Asian capital market based on the benchmark of achievements in corporate governance and social responsibility.
Sinopec has been cited as the Best Managed Company in Asia by Euromoney for twice, including its honor of the Best Managed Energy Company in Asia in 2010.
