Good morning!
I am very glad to attend this conference today. First, I would like to express my gratitude to all friends here for your trust and support to SINOPEC for so long! Thank the government officials from all embassies in China for your concern and help! On behalf of SINOPEC, I extend a hearty welcome and sincere gratitude for your coming.
It is known to all that international financial crisis has influenced the whole world since last year. In order to counter the financial crisis, China formulated a package plan to extend domestic demand and boost the economic development. In the first three quarters this year, China's economy increased by 7.7% on a year-on-year basis, among which 8.9% in the third quarter. Economic recovery momentum is growing. China's economic development has made contributions to the sustainable revival of the world economy.
As one of the largest integrated energy and chemical corporations, SINOPEC is the largest manufacturer and supplier of petroleum products and major petrochemical products as well as the second largest crude oil manufacturer in China. SINOPEC is among the best in the world in oil refining production capacity, ethane production capacity and gas station numbers. SINOPEC ranks No. 9 on 2009 World Top 500 List issued by American magazine Fortune. Its influence on global industry is increasing every day.
In recent years, SINOPEC is making effort to implement internationalization strategy, aiming to develop SINOPEC into a multi-national energy and chemical corporation with strong international competitiveness. We actively carry out go-out strategy, enhance internalization operation and external joint venture and cooperation, develop and use resources rationally, fulfill conscientiously safety, environmental and social responsibility. We have owned a number of overseas exploration and development projects and production bases. Our international trading is moving forward steadily and our market layout keeps been optimized.
It is a common knowledge to almost all multi-national energy corporations that in the development of petroleum and chemicals, lubricant boasts the most brand effect. SINOPEC lubricant business is an important part of its internationalization market strategy. Recently, SINOPEC actively extends overseas lubricant business. Our lubricant products set foot in more than 40 countries and regions in succession. Our sales network keeps improving and a good development momentum is revealed.
Today, SINOPEC lubricant distributors from over 30 countries and regions gather in Beijing to discuss cooperation and development. It symbolizes the internationalization development of SINOPEC lubricant has stepped into a new stage. In the future, SINOPEC lubricant will realize true multi-national operation by the gradual transform from products trading and export to management mode integrating investment, production, marketing and management. We will create a new stage for our future cooperation with all international distributors.
I would like to share with you the theme of this conference here, that is, Working Together, Winning Together. In the new era industrial civilization progresses with each passing day. I am very glad to meet all of you in the most beautiful season in Beijing. Thank all leaders, officials in embassies in China and friends from the press for your concern and support on SINOPEC lubricant internationalization development! Thank all distributors for your contribution to international promotion of SINOPEC lubricants!
Just now, Jianhua Senior Vice President expressed his wishes to this conference on behalf of SINOPEC and conveyed the support from senior management staff to internationalize our lubricant business . Mr. Jiang Yunde introduced the general situation of SINOPEC and lubricant business. Mr. Li Liangyao introduced SINOPEC lubricant internationalization marketing strategy and 2010 overseas sales measures, and showed us the new packaging image in overseas promotion. We officially confer plaques to some distributors to express our appreciation to your effort in market development.
Since 2004, we gradually search after international market development and accumulate experiences. With your help these years, SINOPEC lubricant business has covered in more than 40 countries and regions and overseas sales is growing fast every year. In 2007, SINOPEC lubricant was produced in Singapore and greatly improved the ability of in time delivery. This year, a new plant project with 80,000 tons output capacity in Singapore has been approved within SINOPEC, which indicated SINOPEC lubricant has entered a new stage of internationalization operation.
This conference and plaques conferring are the signs that all distributors here have chosen SINOPEC as the platform for future business development while SINOPEC has chosen you as market development partners in your country and regions. This conference symbolizes a basic accomplishment of SINOPEC lubricant overseas network layout. SINOPEC overseas lubricant has entered a new stage. We will take this as a new beginning and make concerted efforts with you for joint development.
In the new development stage, we will increase the investment in production and supply, increase the types of products which meet different demands in various countries and regions. We will are committed to maintaining product quality, improving supply efficiency, promoting the advertisement in key development areas, and assisting all distributors in market development and aftersales service.
