SINOPEC’s new motor oil product (SN/GF-5 5W-30) recently gained recognition by the American Petroleum Institute (API) and was included in the certification list released on its website.

SN/GF-5 is the world’s most advanced motor oil specification of the time, featuring better fuel economy and fuel durability than GF-4 while it ensures compatibility between motor oil and parts of vehicle emission system to meet the increasingly tougher emission regulations. With extraordinary performance, SN/GF-5 motor oil adapts to the application of smaller sizes of engines, turbo chargers, gasoline direct injection technologies as well as bio-fuel and hybrid power technologies.

By adopting advanced complexing agents and hydrogenated base oil, SINOPEC Lubricants successfully developed the motor oil products meeting the API SN/GF-5 standard and vigorously pushed for the API certification.

API is a globally authoritative issuing organization for motor oil standards. The API license gained by SINOPEC’s new motor oil (SN/GF-5 5W-30) further enhances the competitiveness of SINOPE lubricant oil products and indicates its ability to satisfy the demand both at home and abroad for high-end oils. The product won the GM Dexosl engine oil certification as well.
