Sinopec held a ceremony in Beijing on November 29, 2012 to officially release the Sinopec Environmental Protection Report (2012 version). It is the first report of this kind issued by Sinopec and also the first one by a Chinese enterprise. Li Ganjie, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Environmental Protection of the PRC, and Georg Kell, Executive Director of UN Global Compact, attended and delivered speeches. Over 300 attendees including Ambassadors of Algeria and Denmark to China, officials from Embassies of Saudi Arabia, Argentina, Gabon, Kazakhstan and Nigeria, and persons in charge from the National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Ministry of Environmental Protection, Ministry of Transportation, SASAC of the State Council, State Administration of Work Safety and Board of Supervisors sent by the State Council in Sinopec, representatives of domestic and overseas media, social supervisors and environmental protection experts, members of China Business Council for Sustainable Development, members of UN Global Compact Network China, environmental protection NGOs and domestic and overseas partners attended the ceremony. Fu Chengyu, Chairman of Sinopec Group delivered the speech. About 2000 people of subsidiaries of Sinopec watched the launch via video conference system.
