A letter recently received from EMD confirmed that the fifth generation Zinc-free railroad diesel engine oil developed by Sinopec Lubricants got EMD technical certification. This was another major OEM certification obtained in the railroad diesel engine oil field following the GE certification.

 EMD is the world's biggest diesel electric locomotive manufacturer. Formerly as the US-based GM locomotive business unit, it became an independent company in April 2005, and was acquired by Caterpillar, the world's biggest engineering machinery company, in 2010.
