Chang'e 3 lunar probe lifted off on board an enhanced Long March-3B carrier rocket from Xichang Satellite Launch Center at 1:30 a.m. on December 2, 2013. Sinopec Lubricant Company provided lubrication guarantee for Chang'e 3's lunar journey.

       Chang'e 3 will be the first extraterrestrial soft landing probe and rover (lunar rover vehicle) launched by China. Chang'e 3 probe will help China to achieve the first soft landing probe on an extraterrestrial celestial body. The "Jade Rabbit" lunar rover vehicle will carry nuclear batteries to make an automatic inspection tour on the surface of the moon, indicating that China becomes the world's third country that applies the nuclear power in space exploration following U.S. and Russia.
