On March 21, the departure ceremony for the Bright Journey of Lifeline Express was held in Beijing. In 2014, four Lifeline Express trains will en route to seven provinces, including Shandong Province, Jilin Province and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. "Sinopec Bright Express" as the fourth Lifeline Express train, will sponsor free surgeries to 3,000 under privileged cataract patients in Zhanjiang, Guangdong Province, Jinzhong, Shanxi Province, and Taian, Shandong Province, and build the cataract treatment center of Sinopec Lifeline Express base hospital in the three service areas.

Ever since 2004, Sinopec has constantly taken part in the Lifeline Express activity and provided free surgeries to numerous remote villages along railway routes. So far, more than 28,000 cataract patients benefited from the activity and won a good reputation among medical workers and the public.
